A. Adding new questions to an inspection
- Find the category you would like to create a question for
- Click the ellipsis to the right of the category’s heading and select Edit
- Click the Add question button below the category’s heading
- A section to add a new question will appear at the bottom of the category’s details
- Enter the question’s details:
- Question text: mandatory for each question you want to save
- Text-based guidance can be added optionally
- Attachments: image and pdf files can be optionally added as guidance
- Answer Type Dropdown: select Multiple Choice, Date or Free Text
- Tags can be added from the list of existing tags set up for your organisation
- Enable for all area types: if the inspection has tailored area types set up, you can select ‘Enable for all area types’ to quickly turn the question on for all area types
- Branching logic can be set up using the Show if question field
- Require action on first fail: you can select this to prompt the inspector to create an action when this question is first answered negatively, as long as there isn’t an existing action against the question
- Once you have added all the questions you need, click Save to add them to the category
Note:- The question will always be enabled for the master inspection type, and must be archived to be removed (see How do I archive questions?)
- If you decide you don’t want to add any of the questions you have started, you can click Discard All to quickly clear any un-added questions
B. Editing an existing question in the inspection
- Find the category you would like to edit a question for
- Click the ellipsis to the right of the category’s heading and select Edit
- Find the question you would like to edit and click the dropdown arrow on that question
- A section with existing question details will appear at the bottom of the category’s details
- Once you have edited all the question details you need, click Save to add them to the question
