Android 4.4.4
New Features
Your home screen now shows what's actually due in your areas, rather than everything at once. 'Upcoming Deadlines' lists what's next with the inspection, the area and how long you have left, and 'View all' opens the full list.
The app is useful from the moment you open it, rather than after you've configured it. The first time you open this version we'll ask which Areas and inspections are yours, and we'll pre-select anything you've inspected in the last 60 days. Areas are required, inspections are optional, and skipping that step simply shows you everything for your Areas. This changes what you see, not what you're allowed to inspect.
Changing your mind is easy. 'My Areas' and 'My Inspections' sit on the 'More' screen where you can see your current selection and edit it, rather than being buried in Settings.
Finding a particular deadline is quicker. The Deadlines screen now has a search bar, and your deadlines are grouped under 'This Week', 'This Month' and 'Later', with anything due today shown as 'Today'.
New starters get a useful home screen from their very first login, because Areas can now be chosen during registration.
Improvements to existing features
Unread notifications are easier to spot, with a count on the bell and a refreshed home screen.
Scanning a QR code works exactly as before, it has just moved. Tapping 'Inspect' now takes you straight to 'Select Area', with 'Scan' in the top right corner. From the 'Scan QR Code' screen, 'Select Area Manually' takes you back to the list.
Updated colours and button styles across the app, in line with our latest design style.
Reports now credit the person who submitted the inspection rather than the person who started it. On a shared draft those can be different people, so the timestamp under each answer still shows who answered what.
Less clutter to work through. 'Filter By' has been retired in favour of 'My Areas' and 'My Inspections', and the settings you rarely touch now sit under 'Advanced Settings'. Nothing has been removed.
Bug fixes
One issue, one action. Where the same question repeats across multiple sets, raising one action once now satisfies the mandatory action logic for that question, instead of triggering every following time. This also means your progress reaches 100% and you can submit. Comments and photos are still asked for set by set, because they describe what you found in that particular place.
Profile fields now tell you what is actually wrong when an entry contains special characters, and the mobile number field accepts numbers only.
Shared drafts now respect your organisation's setting for whether answers can be changed by someone else.
Your unread notification count stays accurate after you open a report notification.
Android 4.4.3
New Features
In an effort to improve data privacy, a reminder pops up at customisable intervals when evidence is added to an inspection. This reminds users that PII can not be added to evidence. This feature (and the reminder frequency) can be disabled at the organisation level.
Improvements to existing features
Specific feedback for on profile screen when invalid characters are entered.
Bug fixes
Fixed bug where empty observations were force saving without changes
Android 4.4.2
New Features
Added suggestions to the Start New Inspection flow. 'Recently Used' on the Area selection screen, and 'Upcoming Inspections' on the Inspection screen (if your organisation uses Schedules).
Upon completing an inspection, you'll also see the next upcoming inspection when waiting for the report.
Evidence can now be added to each individual record for questions with sets, rather than this being capped at one of each type per question.
Improvements to existing features
Aligning deeper Reporting and My Areas screens with our latest design style.
Users registering without an org code will be rerouted
Bug fixes
Fixed: 20+ small UI bugs and 6 non-fatal bugs
Android 4.4.1
New Features
Added ‘Guides & Surveys’ implementation from Amplitude which means we can serve in-app guides to assist in self-onboarding, run surveys to capture feedback and playback sessions for bug triage.
Improvements to existing features
Consistency in unsubmitted score calculations across all platforms.
Updated the minimum target Android version to 15, as mandated by Google.
Improved our Amplitude implementation.
Submission reports screen refreshes when the alert screen is dismissed.
Reduced margins across the app to increase useable screen real estate.
Bug fixes
Fixed: Amplitude implementation.
Fixed: users were prompted to re-authenticate seconds after logging in, causing any in-progress inspection to be lost.
Fixed: users on a specific old version of the app were unable to update to current version.
Fixed: inspection session expires before submission, losing inspection progress.
Android 4.4
In this release, we're bringing some small but impactful changes across the app.
1. New Features & Enhancements
Inspection questions can be answered in new ways:
A dropdown picker when questions have more than five possible answers
A calendar picker for when a question requires a date answer
A new textbox for free text answers
When submitting large inspections, the report generation process now happens in the background. You'll receive a notification when the report is ready! Read more here
We've also doubled the submission window for inspections, which means you're better supported in cases of large inspections or slow internet coverage.
Android 4.3.5
