Assessment reports and dashboard

How to find and download the reports from your completed assessments, and how to read the dashboard to see quality across your units at a glance.

Who this is for: Managers (Quality Managers, Directors of Nursing). Anyone can open Reports and the Dashboard for the units they have access to. The dashboard charts are for all users.

Before you start

Reports lists every assessment that has been completed and submitted in your units. Assessments still in progress are drafts, not reports (see Find and pick up a draft).
You only ever see results for the units you have access to. Within those units, Reports shows everyone's completed work, not just your own.
Both Reports and Dashboard are read-only. Nothing here changes an assessment.

Read your dashboard

The Dashboard is your home screen. It gives you a quick picture of quality across your units: how your team is scoring, what's outstanding, and where the problems are. Everything rolls up the units beneath you, so a hospital-level view includes all of its wards, and a region-level view includes all of its homes.

The four numbers at the top

Card	What it shows
Avg. Assessment Score	The average score across your completed assessments.
Non-compliance Questions	How many individual questions scored below 50%. A quick measure of where standards are slipping.
Assessments In Progress	Assessments your team has started but not yet submitted.
Aging Drafts (7+ Days)	Of those in progress, how many have been sitting unfinished for more than a week. Your follow-up list.

Click the information icon on any card for a short explanation of what it means and why it matters. A dash (--) means there's no data yet, rather than a score of zero.

The charts

You'll also see three charts below the numbers:

Assessment Performance & Recent Trends. One row per assessment type, showing its latest score and whether that's up, down, or unchanged against recent submissions. Click any row to open a trend chart of its recent scores over time.
Assessment Performance by Org Units. A grid comparing your assessments (rows) across your units (columns). Switch View by between Score and Duration: Score colours each cell so you can spot problems fast: green is good (above 75%), yellow needs improvement (50 to 75%), red is at risk (below 50%). Duration shows the average time taken to complete each one, in hours.
Top 5 Non-Compliances. Your most frequent failures: the specific questions most often marked non-compliant, and how many units each affects. The best place to start when deciding what to fix across the board.

Jump back into recent work

Lower down, the dashboard gives you shortcuts to your Recent Reports and Recent Drafts, with a View All link to the full Reports list or your drafts.

If your organisation uses the CQC Self-Assessment module

CQC Self-Assessment organisations see an extra Latest CQC Report card on the dashboard, with the overall rating and the five key questions (Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, Well-led). Completed CQC assessments also carry a CQC rating on their report. The rest of Reports and the dashboard works exactly the same way.

Tips & troubleshooting

I can't see the numbers or charts. The dashboard statistics are switched on per organisation. If you don't see them, they aren't enabled for yours yet.
There's no Download option on a report. It appears once the PDF has finished generating, which can take a moment after submission. You can always View the full result in the meantime.
Reports shows assessments I didn't do. That's expected. Reports covers every completed assessment in the units you can access, so you can oversee the whole picture, not just your own work.
A score looks low. Open the report and use How is it calculated? on its Overview section to see exactly how the number is worked out (see Review the results of a completed assessment).
